Honoring Kali Ashley Rise: Launching Coloring Kali’s World Foundation – No Family Left Behind
Posted by Heather Ella Rise on January 14, 2026
Hello, world. My name is Heather Ella Rise, and I'm the proud mother of Kali Ashley Rise, my beautiful 11-year-old daughter whose light was extinguished far too soon. Kali's story is one of unimaginable heartbreak, but it's also the spark that ignites my purpose today. In her memory, I'm founding the Coloring Kali’s World Foundation—a global beacon of hope, support, and justice for families everywhere. With our slogan, "No Family Left Behind: Support, Scholarships, and Justice," we're turning pain into action to protect vulnerable children and empower families navigating broken systems. Let me share what inspired this journey, what we do, and the transformative laws I plan to champion in Kali's name.
The Inspiration: Kali Ashley's Joyful Spirit and Tragic Loss
Kali was a vibrant soul—full of color, laughter, and boundless creativity. She loved drawing, playing, and dreaming big, despite living with severe asthma that required constant care. But on a court-ordered visitation, her condition turned fatal due to inadequate response and negligence, even after my repeated warnings to the family court about her life-threatening needs. The system failed us: Judges overlooked medical evidence, and there were no safeguards to ensure her safety across households.
This wasn't just a personal tragedy—it exposed deep flaws in family courts worldwide, where children's medical vulnerabilities are minimized, parental concerns dismissed, and accountability lacking. Kali's passing in 2025 shattered my world, but it also fueled my resolve. I refuse to let her story end in silence. Instead, I'm channeling her colorful legacy into a foundation that honors her by preventing similar heartbreaks. Kali's name has already echoed globally through petitions and awareness campaigns; now, it's time to build lasting change.
What We Do: Empowering Families Globally
At Coloring Kali’s World Foundation, our mission is to support families in family court battles while raising awareness about chronic medical conditions like asthma. We're not just an organization—we're a lifeline, adapting to diverse global laws and needs to ensure no family fights alone. Here's how we'll make an impact:
- Direct Family Support: We provide free or low-cost mediation, counseling, reunification therapy, financial assistance, classes, training, workshops, legal aid, childcare, transportation, and document preparation. Whether you're in Nevada or halfway across the world, we'll help you navigate custody challenges with dignity and resources.
- Scholarships for Future Healers: To inspire the next generation, we'll award $20,000 scholarships to students entering the medical field—prioritizing those from families touched by court struggles or chronic illnesses. These scholars will commit to community service, fostering compassionate care that could save lives like Kali's.
- Awareness Through Creativity: True to Kali's artistic heart, we'll distribute free coloring books and activity kits teaching kids about asthma management, healthy breathing, and resilience. These tools turn education into fun, empowering children worldwide to "color their world" brightly despite challenges.
- Advocacy and Accountability: We'll fight for fair representation in every case, enforce judges' adherence to laws, and hold family courts accountable for misconduct. Starting locally and scaling globally, we'll monitor outcomes, file complaints, and push reforms to protect medically vulnerable children.
Our work begins in states like Nevada but aims for Capitol Hill and international forums like the UN. By partnering with NGOs and adapting to each country's children's services mandates, we'll create a worldwide network of support—because injustice knows no borders, and neither does Kali's legacy.
The Laws I Plan to Pass: Kali’s Law and Beyond
At the heart of our advocacy is Kali’s Law—model legislation I'm lobbying to pass in Kali's name. This law addresses the exact failures that cost my daughter her life, mandating that family courts:
- Give substantial deference to treating physicians' recommendations.
- Require emergency medical plans, caregiver training, and compliance checks in custody arrangements.
- Recognize children with chronic conditions as medically vulnerable, deserving trauma-informed and disability-conscious protections.
- Ensure fair enforcement with due process, data reporting for ongoing improvements, and accountability for willful disregard of medical evidence.
We'll start in Nevada, building state-level momentum to prevent federal overturns, then escalate to national and global adoption. Beyond Kali’s Law, I envision broader reforms: Mandatory representation for families, judge training on medical issues, and international standards for child safety in courts. These aren't just laws—they're lifelines, ensuring no other mother buries her child because warnings went unheard.
Join Us: Color the World with Justice
Kali Ashley's short life taught me that even in darkness, we can create color and hope. Through this foundation, her spirit will touch millions—saving families, inspiring healers, and reforming systems. If Kali's story moves you, get involved: Donate via our GoFundMe, sign the petition for Kali’s Law, or volunteer your skills. Together, we'll ensure no family is left behind.
In loving memory of Kali Ashley—let's make her world brighter. 🌈❤️
